Lucy Brooke is an artist, researcher and curator of The Feminine Urge Collective born and raised in Hull.
Lucy has a ‘chaotic’ artistic practice rooted in the contemporary. Her interests include portraiture and line-making, and mixed media experimentation.
Lucy has an academic background in Art History, and is currently undertaking a PhD. She has worked as a researcher for the past four years and has undertaken various projects with UK charities, and academic and art institutions.
As founder and curator of The Feminine Urge collective, Lucy hopes to address the continuing deficit in the contemporary artistic landscape that fails to equally represent working class Northern women, and the trans community.
Lucy’s favourite animal is a pigeon, she loves Snoopy, and being from Yorkshire.
